Film & Book Club – The Man Who Planted Trees

Each month we will take a book that has an interesting film adaptation and spend the evening comparing the two. The ticket price includes a copy of the book (which can be collected from our Abergavenny bookshop once you’ve booked your place) and the film screening.

May’s pick is…The Man who Planted Trees by Jean Giono

A short animated film directed by Frédéric Back. It is based on Jean Giono’s 1953 short story The Man Who Planted Trees. narrated by Christopher Plummer. The film won the Academy Award (1988) for Best Animated Short Film.
